Evans Earns Financial Forensics Accreditation

GREENSBORO, NC – May 18, 2009– Greensboro-based public accounting firm Breslow Starling, one of the Triad region’s leading accounting and business consulting firms, has announced that firm member Tom Evans has been awarded the Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) credential as administered by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

The CFF credential combines specialized forensic accounting expertise with the core knowledge and skills that make CPAs among the most trusted business advisers. The CFF encompasses fundamental and specialized forensic accounting skills that CPA practitioners apply in a variety of service areas, including bankruptcy and insolvency;forensic accounting; economic damages; fraud investigations; and litigation support among others.

To qualify, a CPA must be an AICPA member in good standing, have at least five years of experience in practicing accounting, and meet stringent requirements in relevant business experience and continuing professional education.  CPAs who have earned the CFF Credential must be recertified every three years to maintain their credential. 

A resident of Jamestown, NC,   Mr. Evans holds his Bachelor degreein Accounting from Ohio University, as well as his CPA license in North Carolina. 

He has over 20 years of experience in public accounting, and is the primary member in charge of Breslow Starling’s auditing practice and the Firm’s quality control systems.  He is a certified fraud examiner and has provided auditing, accounting, consulting and financial services to Breslow Starling clients located throughout the Southeastern United States.  He works with client organizations in industries including healthcare, distribution, manufacturing,construction, non-profit organizations and professional services, and he is an active member of both the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), and the Association for Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
