Gilley Awarded CPA Accreditation

GREENSBORO, NC – October 13, 2009 – Abigail Gilley, a staff accountant with Greensboro-based public accounting firm Breslow Starling, has been awarded her certified public accountant accreditation by the North Carolina State Board of Certified Public Accountant Examiners.

Ms. Gilley passed the state’s Uniform CPA Examination and satisfied all education, work experience, and moral character requirements of the Board.  A CPA certified to practice in North Carolina must annually renew her license and complete at least 40 hours of Continuing Professional Education (CPE), including an ethics course.  Ms. Gilley joins more than 17,000actively licensed CPAs in the state.

Ms. Gilley joined Breslow Starling earlier this year as a staff accountant after interning with the firm for the prior three years.  She is a resident and native of Eden, NC, and earned both a Bachelor and Master of Science degree in Accounting from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro,where she was awarded the Bryan School Medal for Academic Excellence and numerous other academic achievement awards during her tenure.
